The upgrade will be available for Windows 7, Windows XP or Windows Vista computers, which PC owners can download through the Windows.com website or by purchasing a DVD version at a retail store. The $39.99 promo, also inclusive of a Windows Media Center update for free, will be available until early next year, January 31st.
Microsoft has made the upgrade procedure as simple and seamless as possible, although there is also a Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant available to help anyone make the purchase, download and installation of the new software efficient and successful.
Here are a few things the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant can do for you:
- Verify that your PC for is all set for a Windows 8 update. It will display a comprehensive report that shows whether you need to adjust anything before making the upgrade.
