Maritime Museum of BC will help victims of the 2011 Tsunami in Japan to find their lost items.

“The museum launched a Facebook page called the Tsunami Debris Project earlier this week, where B.C. residents can post photos of personal items they find washed up on beaches that may have been swept away by last year’s tsunami, along with the coordinates of where the items were found. The hope is that people in Japan will recognize the items, as was the case with a Japanese teenager’s prized soccer ball that recently washed ashore in Alaska, said museum general manager Jon Irwin. The museum will present the photos in an online collection curated by the people who contribute them, Irwin explained.”
