RIP Sony Walkman (july 1979 – october 2010)

Written on 25 Oct 2010 by Vincent Abry

Sony officially stopped production of its popular portable cassette tape player Walkman.

31 years after the first sale.

The portable music reader has been sold 220 million times since its debut.

But now the music is more synonymous with mp3 player and ipod.

The end of an era even if a Chinese company has decided to continue producing a Walkman cassette.
