Google Docs now offers 5 GB of free storage

Written on 24 April 2012 by Vincent Abry

Google has just increased the storage capacity of Google Documents from 1 GB to 5 GB. No official announcement has been made and the update is done silently in some users accounts, according to CNET.

Google Docs 5GB

This update comes at the same time when Google is going to launch Drive, an online storage & synchronization tool, just like Dropbox or Skydrive.

Drive should also be available with an offer starting at 5 GB of free storage.

Unless Google Drive is integrated directly into Google Docs, which is also possible … So it would mean Google Drive = Google Docs.

Anyway, according to rumors there are only a few hours left (at worst a few days) before the launch of Google storage service… (may be today?)
