900 million members is probably not enough for the social Network. Facebook now wants to open profiles for kids under 13 years old.

“Facebook Inc. FB -2.45% is developing technology that would allow children younger than 13 years old to use the social-networking site under parental supervision, a step that could help the company tap a new pool of users for revenue but also inflame privacy concerns.”

“Pressure on Facebook to prevent children from lying to get accounts has ramped up over the past year as studies started to quantify the number of underage users on the site. Consumer Reports last year said 7.5 million children under the age of 13 were using the site, including more than five million under the age of 10.”
