Facebook just started to roll out ads in news feed.
And it’s written “Featured” instead of “Sponsored” as initially planned. Facebook says it’s because the term “Sponsored” is already used for advertising in right sidebar.
Besides as you can see, the word is not above the ad but below, on the right :
Facebook says :
“Since people can see marketing messages from both pages they have and have not Liked elsewhere on Facebook, we want to make it clear that marketers can only pay for stories to be featured in your news feed if you have explicitly liked the page”
These ads will appear once a day for the user but even more for those who go very often on their news feed. They won’t appear on mobile (at least for now).
Hmmm guess what : i’m pretty sure that Facebook users are going to be very unhappy about this. How do you see these new featured ads ?
