Coda Sedan

All-electric Coda Automotive makes available their Coda Sedan to the California market middle of this week, with an attractive price tag of $39,900 for the 150-mile range and $37,250 for the 125-mile model. The company made some early deliveries in California two months ago, but the all-electric sedan will be available through dealership centers within the Golden State this week, after minor damage issues on several of its China-assembled parts have been resolved. While Coda is headquartered in Los Angeles and most of its vehicles assembled in Benicia, California, it relies on a China-based manufacturer for larger components like bodies and powertrains.

State of the Art Efficiency

The Coda Sedan, powered by Coda Automotive’s state of the art battery system, boasts of 30% more energy and a 125-mile coverage per charge, whether driving uphill and down or running either the AC or heater. Its unique thermal management feature makes the sedan achieve excellent range regardless of weather conditions or driving limitations. A rechargeable lithium-ion battery charges overnight (approximately 6 hours) and is expected to travel 125 miles on a single charge, or an 88-mile coverage as estimated by the Environmental Protection Agency.

Coda works through its team of engineers in the manufacture of their battery systems, and assembly is done through Lishen Coda Energy Systems, established by CODA and Lishen, a lithium-ion cell producer in China.

The Coda Sedan, described as a “clean-technology vehicle”, is a four-seater that comes with alloy wheels and a customizable interior – buyers reserve the option to upgrade eco-fabric upholstered seating to leather and opt for advanced audio features. Available in six exterior colors – white, black, silver, gray, dark blue and red – the Coda Sedan is also engineered to include impressive safety features such as six air bags, electronic stability control, tire pressure monitoring system and anti-lock braking systems.
