Chocolate 3D Printer “Choc Creator” is now available for purchase on chocedge.com at a discounted price of $4000 instead of $4,600 for the first 100 buyers.
The printer is controlled by a 3D open source software. The liquid chocolate acts as an ”ink”, and fills the giant syringe (used to draw patterns).
Liang Hao who developed the machine at the british University of Exeter, is responsible for marketing the product on Choc Edge Website. His goal is to sell up to 1000 printers within the next 3 years.
“The world first commercial 3D chocolate printer – Choc Creator Version 1 is accepting online orders today. Choc Creator is a simple, yet versatile desktop 3D chocolate printer. It ha been developed for creative users who love to experience new technologies, exploit broad technical settings and boundaries of the printer, and having a lot of fun with their creations. Choc Creator utilizes an easy-to-use syringe based chocolate deposition head which allows users to rapidly install and remove syringe head units. The design enables users to refill the syringe with fresh chocolate or different types of chocolates conveniently.”
Coupled with the recent discovery that chocolate can make you thinner, I don’t think this printer can go wrong! Just let it print directly into your mouth haha.
